Okay,

I will make this the year I become a die hard Panther's fan, by hook or crook. The last time I did this was in 1992 when I moved from Miami to Boston and became (via much Fins withdrawal...) a Patriots fan. It was rough, but then it was also a great ride in Boston from 2000 till the heartbreak (for me last year).

Anyone else going to make the leap this year? I believe in supporting the home team(s) and "when in Rome...", however I noticed that a lot of people here are Redskins fans, so the later may not apply.

I'm excited about football season and just can't wait!

I'm 1/2 & 1/2 on the Steelers & Panthers. I'll be a Steelers fan for life, Panther's fan by location.

I'll be at a few games!

I understand the feeling. I'll always be a Pats fan forever, but I will picking up the Panther's mantle and running with it too. Fortunately they are in 2 different divisions so I can at least (theoretically) root for them both all the way to the superbowl

Should I mention that I'll always dislike the Pats?

I'm just hoping we don't flop like we always do. Lookin' forward to the first 1/2 of the season at least.

I've been a Panther fan since they came here and have really gotten into them the last few years b/c we make a big deal of hanging out on Sunday and watching the games. I'm hopeful b/c it seems mgmt made some good moves in the off season and it sounds like Jake is better than ever. Won't know until they hit the field for real but I can't wait. Fan Fest is a blast if you've never been.

I will never understand why so many people move here and refuse to support our teams. If you love where you came from so much, why do you leave? I'm just curious. The Panthers, Bobcats, Checkers, etc. bring money to our local economy. Why is it so hard to give them some love? I wonder if the Panther fan base will be really strong until the kids who are growing up rooting for them get older and have kids to carry it on. Everyone seems to glom on to whoever they've always rooted for instead of changing teams. I always loved the Cowboys but would never cheer for them over the Panthers. Oh well. I'll be cheering for them!

I was born a Steelers fan, so a Steelers fan I'll be for life. There's no changing that, its like pi.

That's not to say that I don't support the local teams! I love going to panther's, bobcats, checkers, 49ers, etc...

Although I'd have to pull for the Steelers over the Panthers should they play again.
