From a 209 area code - and with someone speaking in Spanish?

They are recorded messages and keep coming in on my cell - I now have blocked the number.

Just wondered.

The 209 area code is the central valley of CA. I used to live in the neighboring 916 area code so knew what 209 was. Not sure what it's all about, though.

Ya, I get them every so often. Telemarketers who don't give a damn about the Do Not Call list, I reckon.

That is strange. Keep an eye on your phone bill, just in case.

I used to get Spanish phone calls. When I told them, in Spanish, not to call back they didn't

You might go back onto the "Do not call list" and pop your numbers in if it's been a while. I've just been noticing local calls on my home phone, plumbing, roofing etc.

I bet some MS_13 gang member has stolen your cell phone account number and it trying to reach other MS13 gang members on the east coast.

If it keeps up you can also contact you provider to block them and check it out. I was getting some texts from some high school kid who refused to believe I wasn't his friend just jerking him around. We finally called Sprint, gave them the number and they blocked him and we didn't have to. Plus they let the phone owner, probably the parents, know about the situation and warned them. At least that what they told us they did. See if your provider does the same.
