Hello! We are located in Mooresville and want to see about paving our driveway (currently gravel). I'm open to asphalt or a mccobb finish because I think concrete will be way too expensive. If anyone has any experiences, good or bad, please let us know. Thanks!

I've had asphalt driveways up north, and they aren't bad. They have a tendency to get cracks in them, so it's a good idea to have them sealed once a year or every other year (not too expensive... I think it was less than $200). If you have kids that play in the front yard, asphalt gets very hot during the summer, so you might want to look out for that too.

I have a concrete driveway now and like it better than my old asphalt driveway, but I could see it being cost-prohibitive. Asphalt also seems to hide stains better than concrete, which is a plus

Are you in a particular water shed that would govern how much impervious surface you can have? There may be a reason other than cost for the lack of paving...
