I know there maybe cheaper places and a lot of folks shop at costco and other stores where gallons of milk may account to be cheaper.

But for me who use milk only for my 1 cup of coffee in the day.. half gallon once in 10 days makes sense and the best prices I have seen (incl of Walmart, Aldi and other stores) are $1.98.. for a few weeks now Walgreens (by southpark mall, maybe other locations too) have been having a sale for PET half gallon for $1.49. its cheaper than the 1 quart they are selling for $1.59

So if u are like me and need half a gallon milk.. Walgreens should be your Milk Stop!!

Just a FYI, milk freezes great if you have the extra room in your freezer. So stock up when it's on sale!

Yes. Unopened, of course. I saw it on some talk show that had some penny pinching family and tried it. It works! Can't even tell it was frozen.

I think you can freeze it up to 6 months.

EDIT: I just googled it and it said 1-3 months and that you shouldn't freeze it in the container, but I have. I also drink skim milk.

You better hurry up, now that the government has increased the support price given to dairy farmers for their excess milk by $.12/lb (they're considering an additional $.05/lb), the price of fluid milk is getting ready to rise to consumers.....
