I don't water anything, live alone, and just use water for regular things like a shower daily, laundry once a week, etc. It's $50 every month no matter what. This is Lancaster County. I always thought that was really high, but I guess that's just their rates. Seems unfair though. I'm always charged a rounded number for usage too, that doesn't change no matter how much less water I use.

Great concept.Don't understand why people have large expanses of lawn that is such a faff and expense to maintain, when it's far easier to have gravel/ bark areas with drought resistant plants and grasses dotted around.
At least two thirds of our lawn will be going once we re-design our yard.
Using all that water for lawns is ridiculous, whether you pay for it or have a well-it's water whatever and should be conserved where possible.

The extreme rarity is for a water meter to fail in favor of the water company. In nearly all meter failures, it fails in favor of the customer...meaning it reads too slowly which indicates less usage...thus, a lower bill. Just FYI...
