I have no info but just wanted to say good luck with your move. I'm trying to make that transition as well! This board has been a great resource for me and I hope you find it to be that way as well!

Welcome to the Charlotte forum streetglide! Here's the thing, Charlotte hasn't had a "small town" feel in a number of years now, so if you are truly seeking that we would have to suggest areas outside of Charlotte for you. Is that what you would like?

yes just out side so long as its less than an hour drive for my kids for school. maybe even a little south so we wouldnt have to far to drive for the ocean.

Where will they be going to school?
Charleston, SC is about 3 hours away and Myrtle Beach, SC is about 4-4 1/2. They are southeast of the Charlotte area.

With the law school being west of uptown Charlotte and UNCC being northEAST - the city inbetween them IS Charlotte So, you will have to live either west of Charlotte, closer to the law school or northeast of Charlotte, closer to UNCC. Either way, neither kid would have a commute as long as an hour.

I would suggest you look at Mt. Holly and Belmont west of Charlotte and Harrisburg or Concord northeast of Charlotte
