Actually I agree with CB on this vote them out or move. After all the botched issues with City Council and the Mayors wild plans I would love to see the officials voted out. I would like to see some new faces that are capable of running a business and city works step up and really plan the cities future. But as I have said before I am not beyond moving if this cluster #### continues down the current path with little or no regard for the tax payers and citizens!

New article from today’s paper…

“Director says he's not sure whether taxpayer funds will be needed”

“…Charlotte and Mecklenburg County leaders learned of the center's projected losses last month as Jeff Wise announced that it would borrow $6 million to pay for rising costs in construction and other areas.

In his first public comments about the expected losses, Wise said Thursday that he doesn't know whether the extra taxpayer money will be needed.

"We could offset it with revenue and cutting expenses," he said. "We're just giving them a heads-up this is a possibility instead of waiting until the last minute. That's just being a good partner."…”

Thankfully, there are folks looking to the future of the city. Have any of you been there? What a great place-- I was there for the trials last week, this is almost a one of a kind in the nation, and yes it needed city and county money to get it off the ground... as does virtually every improvement the city makes.
As rightly observed above, there is a political process, there are hearings when people can voice their opinions, but that is why we have elected officials, to study these proposal in detail (have ANY of you done this?)
and make decisions.
It is a great addition to Charlotte, you might want to visit- its free-

I for one love to see the American Flag, the NC State Flag and the 5 ring Olympic Flag side by side in Charlotte.

Had a fun time rafting out there today; put in my $66 towards the operating costs. I'd recommend it to anyone even mildly interested in outdoor activities.

Anyone who hasnt been out to the Center needs to keep it down. My wife and I have already been out to the Center three times. It is an amazing place. The whitewater rafting trip is a lot of fun and the trails are very enjoyable as well.

Did you see any dogs out there? I was thinking of taking my little guy out there this weekend for a stroll and to watch the whitewater fun.

The water is plenty warm enough right now... I was appreciative of our guide surfing us back into rapids for a dunking because it was a hot day.

Lots of dogs and trails available for walking. I would suggest using the water boots (rent them if you need) because they grip better in the foot holders. My shoes did not, so I took a tumble out of the boat in the Biscuits & Gravy rapid. The shoreline guide was quick and tossed a rope to me as soon as I popped up out of the water - my boat was still back in the rapid.

For the 2 hour experience we took 8 trips down the two channels. Each one was different enough as we gained experience and the guide tried different tacks. The last time we went backwards through it - Fun!
