I know my food! Glad you liked it. On one of these threads, I mentioned how I freeze quarts of their BBQ to take to my southern friends in NYC when I go to visit- it freezes great- just don't forget to take a bottle of the vinegar based sauce too!

Thumbs down Never again...

I've been to Lancaster's in Huntersville now twice. I regretted going the first time and now even more so having made this mistake twice.

First time I ate in and ordered one of their pulled pork dinners. It was VERY dry, very salty and just didn't taste good to me. A couple of their sauces did a decent job of covering up a lack-luster meal... what couldn't be covered up was their service. Two very young waitresses were running the dining area and they were so rude I would have sworn that they would have willingly spit in my food! (I am not saying they did, just expressing the level of "rudeness" ).

Today I was driving by and stopped in to give it another shot as their parking lot is always full. Well, I'm sorry I did. I ordered their beef brisket sandwich (which I believe ran me over 8 dollars) and it was literally inedible. I don't know what cut of meat they used but it was the toughest, blandest and most disappointing "barbeque" I've ever encountered. You could not even bite into this shoe-leather excuse of a sandwich. I tried to take each piece out, cut it up and at least eat it that way... I had to stop kidding myself....this sandwich was downright gross!! I then handed it over to my dog (who is not picky in the least) and even she wouldn't eat it . The best part of the meal believe it or not was the pickle. The woman at the carry out counter was very nice, however.
I won't be making this mistake again! Thank you for the other suggestions!

I disagree. I went there for the first time Sat. and had a great meal. I too ordered the Pork BBQ meal. I thought this was in the old fish camp I did not realize Pucketts had shut down and now was a BBQ joint. I will go back. Must just be different tastes!

I stop by Bubba's occassionally on Sunday when leaving church. Good pull pork, beans and slaw--I'm not a fan of BBQ chicken so I can't rate it. Nothing fancy about Bubba's though--take it as you get it. Most time the hole in the wall are the better places to eat real food.

I went to the one off Beatties Ford - didn't think it was bad at all...though I had the same question about the slaw.

I usually enjoy them. They have two types of slaw, I prefer the mayo slaw versus the mustard slaw.

I've also enjoyed Lancaster's quite a bit. I do prefer eastern style, so that's probably why I like Lancaster's.

Lancasters Huntersville was awesome. The BBQ pork was the best around here, and the beer is ice COLD!

I lived really near the Lancaster's in Huntersville. I was fired up when it opened, but was severely disappointed once we ate there.

I think all of you should go to the Lancasters (the main one, not the satellite) in Mooresville, just for and overload on que and NASCAR stuff. (I "assume" it is still open.

I would say the food is ok, but not top notch.

You guys should drive over to Rowan County and try Gary's in China Grove. Excellent, and none of that "coleslaw" They serve BBQ slaw, plus you can get a foot long there, OLDSCHOOL!

Gary's is sometimes considered "HIGH CLASS" since they have a "Shirts and Shoes" policy.

Winks, another 10 minutes up I-85, is also good. I grew up in Rowan County, both those places are good.
