I don't consider police protection entitlement but I do expect them to be paid decently! And to do that means taxes! And to increase police presence means more money, you get what you pay for. Also if you know the judges would actually convict criminals and put them in jail for awhile..it might help crime too

I agree, but before we start spending more money (aka increasing taxes) lets look at how we are currently spending the money today. Knowing how governments work I can only imagine the amount of waste.

Me too..I don't even want to know! Plus all the things they spend money that are such bs. I know the fed does it..look at the "fat" on all the bills trying to get through legislature..things that have NOTHING to do with the original bill just so someone will vote for it.

Only in government can you have a budget (then go over it) and ask for more money from the taxpayers to manage it correctly the 2nd time around. Repeat this process annually!

Anyway, back to the positives. I love this weather

I think there are just some people who are going to be unhappy wherever they are. Then there are some people who you can put anywhere and they adapt and make the best of any situaltion. Am I wearing rose-colored glasses, no, but I do try and find something good in everyone (and you CAN find it) and in everything. We are trying desperately to sell our home if Florida so we can move to NC, which has been our dream since we met, almost 23 years ago (OUCH!) and even though I don't like the heat in Florida or alot of other things I have adapted and made the best of it. If you like the "big city" life, then don't move to a small town and bring the big city attitude with you, just stay in the big city.....or adapt....it's as easy as that.

Now, who wants some sweet tea!?

Lovinglife, you are absolutely right. I have been skimming other boards/states and every board I have looked at so far has chronic malcontents as I call them!
