Hi to all
We're thinking about relocating from No VA to Charlotte, but I cannot seem to find a good site that provides a brake down of the surrounding neighborhoods. I could really use some help, please! We have 3 small children so of course the best schools would dictate where we buy a hm. My hubby would be wking in the city & I can find a job pretty much anywhere near by.
Thanks

Union County, South Charlotte and Cabarrus County.
What is your price range? That is going to dictate a lot!

We're looking at about $300K maybe little more, perferably less. Any ideas?? I'd love to know how far the suburbs are from the city, any idea?

There's Mooresville to the north. Concord to the east. Union County to the Southeast. York County to the south. All with good schools, within your price range listed. A generalized list, but those are the main areas.

Homes with a Charlotte address can be as far as 30 minutes from the city. I would also consider South Charlotte as well as Union County. We relocated from NY in 1998 -- we also have 3 kids No plans to ever go back (Knock on Wood!!!)

Thanks so much...there's just sooo much to consider. We cannot seem to find any direct info on the specific neighborhoods & schools. Coming from NoVa, schools here are hard to compete with, but we'd love to find some that may come close...any specific suggestions?
Thanks

Red face Huntersville

I like Huntersville. Our community (Rosedale) is in your price range, give or take a little bit. The schools are decent and there are a lot of kids in the neighborhood. The commute to Charlotte is easy. Anything further north of exit 23 on I77 can be rough. I wouldn't personally recommend Mooresville, Cornelius or Davidson because of the commute but they are nice areas. It seems like the traffic jam starts around our exit and just gets worse the further north you go. I just started working about a month ago and drive u/t everyday. It seems like it takes about 35 minutes in rush hour as opposed to 20 minutes otherwise. Crime is low. Our community is very active socially, if you are interested in that.
