My husband and I have decided to train to do an inline skating marathon and we have a lot of practicing ahead of us. We need a long, flat, paved trail or quiet road. The longer, the better. Less kids and dog walkers to dodge is better, too. Preferably nearer to South Charlotte.

We already know about Freedom park.

Jetton Park too but you will have doggies and such.
Can you give a rough estimation how long the walkways at the business park would be, distance-wise? That business park is a bit of a drive but I'm willing to give it a try.

I am training for a marathon and we practice at Huntersville Business Park. There are routes from 2-10 miles. If you want, the next time I go I can save a route map and scan it and email it to you. It will take me about a week as we don't meet 'till next Tuesday, but I will get it to you.

That would be great! Are you training for a skating marathon as well, or running?

I've looked on that site, unfortunately the pages don't often make it clear whether the trail is paved or simply graveled over and I've not had much luck with searching it.

Try this one Park and Rec Greenways (http://www.charmeck.org/Departments/Park+and+Rec/Greenways/Home.htm - broken link) Every greenway I have been on is paved. There are some that very briefly go onto a residential street, but I have only seen one like that (near Park Rd and Woodlawn).
