Hello,

We are considering a move to Charlottesville. Are there a lot of mosquitoes there? How is the humidity in the summer?

Thank you!

(1) Yes; and (2) Bad.

Seriously, though, it depends on what you are used to. If you're from mosquito-plagued areas up North, you will find most of Virginia (including Charlottesville) quite tame. If you are from a mosquito-free part of California, then you might not like it. On the other hand, yes, it is quite humid in July and August by anyone's standards I would think.

Don't come for the mosquitos, or the humidity. Come for the lifestyle, but only if you already are a trust fund baby and don't REALLY NEED a job to pay your bills!

Lived there for 20+ years, and mosquitoes are not a problem at all.

Humidity in summer is no big deal, either.

I guess humidity is all relative. IMO, humidity for most of the east coast during the summer is oppressive and worse as you go south. If you're one of those people that don't sweat, no matter how hot it gets, then you probably won't care much...but for the rest of us, be prepared to sweat a lot from May-September.

Most of the mosquitoes have been eaten by the stinkbugs.
