My family and I are making the move to Chattanooga, TN and we needed some information on neighborhoods/areas that are not only suitable for families but also have houses for rent. We want to live in an area that is charming and good for outdoor activities. Our current area has two bedroom housing anywhere from 750-1100 dollars/month. What areas are comparable in Chattanooga? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I posted this in another thread. Maybe it will help you as well.

You should search the Chattanooga forum for certain phrases like "good neighborhoods", "good schools", etc. These sorts of questions come up a lot, and sometimes "the regulars" don't answer them all. Hopefully a search will give you more information so you can ask about specific neighborhoods or areas. Good luck.

I highly recommend finding a home centrally located in the city. Downtown is awesome with a recovery story that makes it remarkable on a world scale, but in the suburbs its like any other bland city in America. Generally. Some "suburbs" have more their own identity, like the mountain communities, or Collegedale. Probably because Collegedale isn't really a suburb. Yeah.
