I am curious about Cleveland and Charleston area...does it get snow? If it does, how much is average and what about ice storms?

Considering this area with a couple others and trying to decide if it would be a good choice to further investigate

Thanks!

Snow is usually so minimal, the areas aren't prepared for it and locals really can't drive in it. The snow is very wet and freezes over quickly, making a nasty ice patch.

This is great to hear because I don't want my son learning to drive in the snow Once he has mastered it I won't be so worried.

I have been looking into Arkansas on the NW side but I fear they get too much snow and ice for my blood, looking for a milder kind of climate. I love to see it, but driving hood deep in it is completely another story. lol

My husband and I are thinking of moving to Cleveland. I lived there as a very small child and I want to go home. I would like to know how cold it gets in winter there because hubby has RA and cold weather makes it much worse.

Actually, I have to disagree with chattyson89. I have friends in TN, and they've already gotten snow a couple of times this winter (not much, but enough). Also, most days so far have been a high of mid-40's and lows in the high TEENS. It gets pretty cold in Cleveland.
