Ah yes the Cleveland Daily Banner, or as one of my professors at Lee once called it, the daily fish wrapper. They didn't cover anything regarding the abuse of power scandal with the former chief of police Lee Reese. (That was fully covered by the now defunct Bradley News Weekly). Or the time when a Lee student was hospitalized from fraternity hazing injuries (which was covered by several Chatt. news outlets). I'm kinda shocked they even mentioned the scandal with the current police chief who also had to resign. Look how many ads are paid for by the local college, they never report anything "bad" it's just a PR paper more than anything.

Yes Cleveland is odd. Interesting, not so much. I'm currently doing what I can to get out, since there are NO full time jobs in the area where I want to work (horse industry).

I was born and raised in Cleveland, spent my first 23 years there. I grew up a stones throw from Lee College and North Cleveland Church of God. Little did I know at the time how close I lived to the Cleveland's center of power, the Church of God. The mayor, police chief or anyone else in a position of authority has been installed by the Church of God and they don't let a fart unless the Church of God approves it. As for the Cleveland Daily Banner, they are the Church of God town crier, only printing what is Church of God deems politically correct. Make no mistake about it, Cleveland Tennessee is run by the Church of God. How many houses have been taken by Lee University under the immenent domain statute and how many city streets have been abandoned to support Lee's growth? Ours was. Luckily, I had sense enough to get out of that one horse town when I turned 23.
