Anyone know anything about Home Town neigbhorhood in Aurora?

Seeing pics on realtor.com and other sites the houses look new and pretty decent, nothing special but a nice little starter home. Why is it so cheap, seems like there's gotta be some issue.

I know they go to aurora east school district so thats bad but is this area not that nice?

I thought Hometown was a suburb on the southwest side.

Stay away from Hometown. Lots of foreclosures and significant gang presence. My girlfriends uncle lives there. Not nice at all and the lots are tiny. Pretty brochures but not the place you would raise a family. Schools are horrible too.

Thanks, that's kind of what I was wondering about. I figured there had to be some issue b/c its so cheap. I was actually curious whether they had the issues you mentioned. I have seen there's tons of foreclosures and short sales and I can totally see an investor buying a few and turning them into sec 8.

I know some of the areas around there arent't that great, apparently its the same situation with hometown. Thanks for the advice.

This.

My best friend lives there and it's bad. We woke up one morning to see a car stripped down and on blocks in the field where stalled building was happening. Also, the quality of the housing is HORRIBLE.

You want cheap housing? You get to live with trashy neighbors and trashy product.
