Hi- We are thinking about moving to the West side of Diamond Lake in Mundelein. Can anyone give me their opinions on the area... i.e. schools? crime? general info? Opinions about the area? ANYTHING is appreciated!! Thanks so much!

Diamond Lake schools are not as good as Mundelein or Fremont but not at the bottom. Crime not too bad. Commuting not bad if you work at O'Hare or downtown via train. But 83 through Diamond Lake is bad, no improvements planned. Good park facilities.

Diamond Lake itself is gorgeous -- clear water, sandy beaches , much free bottom, greater for skiing and fishing.

The schools in that whole section of Lake Co are a big step down from some of the surrounding areas: http://iirc.niu.edu/SearchResult.aspx?type=CITY&searchText=$MUNDELEIN$

Well, if you mean West Shore park, it is a nice area, and a quirky, fun little neighborhood. I echo what the link above says about the schools though.

Well, I would say more than any other neighborhood in Mundy, it has the most community feel to it. People seem to know each other back there, perhaps it is because of the winding small roads you have to drive down. It's nice to have exits that will take you to Midlothian or 45 as well, you can get out of town in all directions fairly quickly.
