I 've got a new job in Evergreen Park HS (off kedzie) and I live in downtown.

I've been taking 94 and exiting on 95st. However I am a bit concerned with safety and traffic specially for the first few miles on 95st.

Would it be any better if i continue on the Highway and get off at a later exit, such as 98,99 or 103 street?

thank you

There really is no better route. I guess you could drive take 55 to Pulaski, then drive all the way to Evergreen Park high school from there, but 55 gets packed and Pulaski is a logjam from 55 all the way to about 87th.

Get off on Halsted, two exits past 95th St. Go straight through the light, follow the curve to the right and BOOM, you're on 99th St. That will take you straight to the high school.

Default Um, coming from downtown....

...if one wanted to go all the way out to 294 then one could exit at Halsted but I believe it to be far quicker to stick with the Dan Ryan and try not to let the surroundings worry you too much. Actual news reports of violence against "outsiders" are quite different than than the impressions one gets from movies or misinterpretting the gang- based violence that does plague some areas..

Ok. I'm gonna ask once again. What exactly is it that you think is gonna happen to you? Do you drive a Lexus or something? There will be tons of other cars driving on the road next to you. What makes you so special? What is it that you're afraid of?

I really am asking. No need to get defensive..

This is a commute to work? Well, obviously the quickest route is the route you're gonna want to take. Obviously, right? Nothing wrong with cruising and being creative on the way home, of course. If you prefer passing through a different area, you can do it on the way home.

Not me. My wife, told me that on her way in she picked a car making a quick u turn and followed her for a few miles. Once at destination she kept an eye on her car from inside and a few minutes late the "suspected followers" cruised by her car in the parking lot.
