Is Bartlett and Elk Grove Village still a nice location to live?
Looking at the 59/ Sterns/ Army Trail area

Thanks,

I believe that the Elk Grove Village area is a nice area. Decent Schools, Low Crime, Near Job Opportunities. But it is a sterile, cookie cutter, and mostly middle class area. I would recommend something a little more established. It really depends on your budget, and other criteria.

Thanks,
My family and I are looking at Bartlett right now. We like what we see. A GREAT little downtown, low crime, good schools and newer homes...

Bartlett's "downtown" is indeed little, more like "tiny". Nice town though. The only area that is questionable is the "quads" area, near the Streamwood border. I know they had gang problems over there many years back, seems to have quieted down though.

Same for Bartlett. Its not really a downtown at all, more like a train station, little bar, a baker and a few other tiny stores. You could probably spit across Bartlett's downtown.

I lived in Bartlett for 3 years. The schools are a part of Elgin school district which is huge and does not have the best reputation. Local school are OK. The location was not great. Not a close drive to any major express way. The town itself does not have much in means of shopping, great dining. I would NOT spend a lot of money on a house in that community. It does have a couple of upscale communities, but a lot of cookie cutter middle class and town homes.
