Hello,
Currently I live in Arlington Heights, and I like to play golf all over the NW suburbs. I consider myself to be a pretty good golfer, who played college golf in MS. I moved up here back in 2011 and have yet to find some golfers around this area who are pretty good. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like to go out and have fun, but I do have some competitive juices flowing through me! I've been to many courses in the area, but have yet to be paired up with someone who breaks 90 . I've tried forums and called courses to see if they could pair me up with someone who is decent, but all they want is to throw you out there and make money, no matter how much they tear up the course. Where are all the good golfers?? These courses are too nice for all these "hackers"..

I think it's true (not sure) that most golfers have never broken 90. No surprise that when you show up at a random course at a random time, you get paired with bogey golfers. Or double-bogey golfers...

I doubt if anyone can point you to a specific course and say "Only scratch golfers play here." Any course like that would be closed due to being broke. Not enough scratch golfers to keep all these courses open.

Considered playing some flighted tournaments? So that you will be matched against guys at your level? Maybe playing a few of those, and you will eventually meet up with better players in the area.

Yeah but I just think that sometimes golf club should have some type of pair-up tool online, where some golfers with similar skill levels could play together.

^^I would eventually like to do this, but work and wife get in the way. I am really looking to just occasionally play with people in the area, so in turn, I could get "tournament" ready. But thanks for the info.
