My family is newly relocated to the Crystal Lake area. We are looking to purchase a home and our kids' education is a top factor. We have a 4yo and 6yo. They previously had an IB international school education (think Montessori) and it was a great fit, but we are looking at public schools here. I'm trying to figure out whether Huntley or Crystal Lake (Woods Creek or Indian Prairie, maybe?) elementaries would be better for us. Looking for a holistic program that is great at challenging precocious kids, but also prioritizes equipping them socially to become great people. Anyone have any insight they can share?

Are you somehow limited to that immediate area or could you expand your search?

Holistic approach can vary slightly in practice between districts/schools. Some may not have the resources/funds to do things like differentiation, if that is what you are after. Many school districts will at least pay lip service to making certain young learners are well accommodated in acquiring social skills too. Other districts may offer legitimate programs per se.

My advice? Reach out to the specific administrators at the respective schools where you want to reside. A much more direct way to know if they check all your boxes
