Wheaton College every year does a Christmas Festival, and here below is the one from 2015 which was titled Good News Great Joy.

I have a question though. How come the audience only gave a tepid response at the end?

I caught part of their show on TV this year. I think the applause was pretty good, but it seemed like they cut it off at the tail end. I think the crowd size is pretty small too, check out the audience at 42:53. Maybe because they televise it. Another factor is that the mood in these type of shows tends to be somewhat solemn and sentimental so it's not like they're going to get the same level of applause that a high energy heavy metal concert would get.

Anyways, hats off to them, very well done! Bravo.

Pretty good??? I get that the response at those type of things are much more solemn than a metal concert, but I sang in a choir in college, and at the end of most of my concerts, there was some scattered whooping mixed in with the applause. In other words, what you would typically hear at the end of my concerts were mostly applause, but some whoops were mixed in.

Update: Given how you said that you watched it this year, it was probably the 2016 one you watched, and I thought the audience was more enthusiastic that year.

The real news is that the Chicago Symphony Orchestra plays at Wheaton college periodically. This seems good too.
