Not at all. I am very anti psychopath. Gangbangers, gangsters and those that do whatever they can to undermine any sense of an orderly and safe society are not IMHO fit to exist among those that wish only to have a good life, raise their children to respect others and fulfill some decent contribution to society as a whole, hopefully making it somehow better than before. All the trash featured in those clips on the South Side will contribute is loss of all of the above. They have essentially NO useful purpose in society. They are essentially a virus. I believe in taking the trash OUT. They qualify.

I love Geneva. A modern day version of Mayberry. Went to the Festival of the Vines. Great time, great place, great neighborhood. A bit far from Chicago, but probably my next move in 5 years time.

But unfortunately they tend to live long enough to have kids and screw up their lives.

Yeah, that's where the feeling of helplessness comes in...you can't stop people from having children. Not that I'd want to, but I just wish there was some type of intervention or something other people could do in cases like those....

I don't know...I hope I made sense.

Lincolnshire (large lots, heavily wooded, very neighborhood oriented, easy access to shopping along Milwaukee Ave corridor)
Long Grove (same as above - but too spread out - far drive to get places)
Bannockburn - Beautiful, huge homes and lots and great access to Deerfield, Lake Forest amenities
Winnetka - Love the older homes and ravines

If Galena was considered a suburb, that would be top of the list - but its not - so thought I'd just mention how much I like it any way

Packing up and fleeing further out is not the answer. Because of increased dependence on the car, loss of farmland and other resources , no wonder prices skyrocket and and it is getting unaffordable for everyone except for the rich to live. It also seems that this ghetto thug lifestyle is glorified by the media " Its cool to be a gangsta" and our youth is eating that up. It has to come to a point where blue collar Joe is going to say"enough's enough " and finally stand up and do something about keeping the communities intact and safe. He needs to realize that packing and fleeing is going to empty out his wallet faster, because prices are high and they are not going to stop rising.
Oh by the way , not too long ago I was riding the bus in my way home from work I overheard three of our lovely youth- about age 14 or 15 ,very thuggish looking - one making a comment and all laughing - verbatim "Death row immates are the coolest , man aren 't those ------------s da baddest! " The gangsta hiphop culture is doing nothing but feeding our kids of all ethnic types negativity and thats the very kind of garbage attitude - violent crime is good and the worst criminals are looked upon as folk heroes-that is ruining our blue collar neighborhoods ,both city and inner ring suburbs . Chicagoland is not the only place that has been hit hard with that filth but in most large cities in America. Also , these punks were not just race-one was white, one was black and the third appeared to be Hispanic. This was not said in the inner city, the bus had already passed the city -suburban border 10 miles back.
