I currently work in Glenview, but have been looking to find a place out of lake county (where I live). My gf is living/working in Elmhurst and I work in Glenview. We've looked at Chicago and haven't found a good area where we can both continue to work in our respective ares. Any suburbs you could suggest? I've looked at Oak Park, but not sure how long the commute would be or the train ride there would be. Any help is appreciated!! Thanks!

We have a metra station really close to my job in Glenview.

Hmm. 165K will probably limit you to a condo or townhouse.

Commute from Oak Park would be a disaster.

Park Ridge? Des Plaines? Why not Elmhurst and you commute between there and Glenview?

Northlake might be affordable, and quite close to Elmhurst.

I tried the metra to oak park..... made it in 1:30. Any thoughts? I'm doing an hour drive to Waukegan from Glenview. I hate driving I'll say that.
