I have recently moved here and currently living in Richton Park, IL. I am planning to move to either Tinley / Orland Park or to schererville, IN.

Which hospitals have Child birth facility in South Chicago & Northwest Indiana.

I am aware of the South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, IL and St. James in Chicago Heights, IL. Are there any other hospitals in this area that have Childbirth facilities.

Probably not far south enough for you but I had both of my kids at Christ in Oak Lawn. My youngest is 13 now so things have probably changed some but I always felt comfortable there.

Thank you all for your replies

I will be soon moving to Tinley Park. The closest hospital I know is South Suburban hospital. Any review if it is a good hospital for pregnancy/delivery.

Also, any suggestions on the area West of the Tinley Park Station. Is that area safe / good. It seemed pretty nice when I checked it out.

If you're moving to the Orland/Tinley area, you might want to look at the facilities offered through Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet. While presently located right off Maple (Rt. 6) in Joliet, the hospital is building a new facility that will be located almost directly off the I-80/I-355 extension, very easily commuted to from Tinley/Orland in about 10 to 15 minutes. There is also a new women's clinic/hospital that has already opened on the new Silver Cross campus location there. They have birthing suites, etc. at the present hospital and will be expanding services at the new location when completed.
Best of luck to you in your move and pursuit of a great hospital facility. If I can answer any further questions, please let me know.

In Indiana there is community hospital--- I was my friends lamaze coach so Ive been to the classes ther as well as labor and delivery. I LOVED her doctor!! I live in hazel crest and it only took me about 20 mins to get to Community Hospital. Before she left the hospital with the baby, they gave her a mommy and daddy night where you have a romantic dinner and u leave the baby in the nursery....it was really a nice touch. I was hospitalized for 31 days at south sbrn and Im not a fan of the staff there. They were very concerned with what I was going to say of the survey I received though.
