Its the mass fear of wilson stop that makes it dangerous.
If the people west of their decided to enmass take the el
it would be safer.

But that will happen eventually as gentrification
is inevitable. But gentrifications greatest enemy
is Alderman Shiller.

She is amazing. She has single handedly kept that area
from improving for SO many years.
But the area just north of leland has improved,
so even Shiller cant stop the inevitable.
Ribfest just started this year......

Shillers office is right across the street in
mcjunkin building on that vaunted intersection
of illrepute.

Hopefully she finally gets voted out in the coming year.

Right on cue:

"Shortly before 9:30 p.m. the shooter, a man, was at the northeast corner of Broadway and Wilson Avenue and fired at least five shots "indiscriminately" south toward a currency exchange, where a large crowd of at least 30 people had gathered, witnesses said."

Holy cow, I must've just missed this!

Since I live on Wilson, I usually ride my bicycle for quick jaunts eastward.

Last night it went something like this:

*ride, ride, ride* Oh, boy. This is nice!

*Get to the stop light. Look up.

*Ah, S***. It's Clark.

*Turn around.

Are you guys aware that this article is over a month old, from June 28th? Just curious...It's not good, either way, but if the date listed on the story is accurate, it's old news.

A month is old news when it comes to crime in a neighborhood? As if a neighborhood can magically rid itself of crime problems in a month or two.

I never said it wasn't relevant, I just said it happened a month ago, not "on cue" like it happened yesterday. Also, I never said a neighborhood could "magically rid itself of crime problems in a month or two." Obviously the crime in Uptown is still an issue.

If you know that, why did you make this thread to begin with?
