The problem is not all women find the hat wearing offensive or rude..so your revolt would be like 12 women marching around, while I am at home getting it on with my wife

So not true. However, there is a certain caliber of woman that would not mind nor notice a man in a baseball cap eating dinner in a nice restaurant.
Go for it.

Can you define "certain caliber of woman" who would not mind the hat wearing in certain restaurants? I am sure a lot of women here would like to know what you mean by that? And I can only assume that was not a jab at my wife based on your high standards and "etiquette". And also since you do not know her nor do you know me.

And for the record I never said I condone wearing a hat in NICE restaurants. I would never consider that. I said wearing one in a bar or lower scale restaurant shouldn't be looked down upon or be an issue...

And other lower class habits such as "casual" (sloppy) dress, the elevation of the T-shirt to normal adult outerwear and a disdain for manners and formality have also spread upwards.

Another lower class habit I see spreading upwards is a stubborn (often combatative) refusal to admit fault and a "I'm as good as anyone" (even when wearing a ballcap indoors) attitude that seeks to justify uncivil and inappropriate behavior.
~sigh~

Oh, Tom. We've had our disagreements, but in another time and place, I would have been crazy for you

Wearing a hat indoors but for already noted exceptions, should be limited to soldiers, sailors, Coast Guard personnel, Marines and airmen who are in uniform and under arms.

I think you'll have a hard time getting the hat-wearing gals to go along with it.

Customs change, some accept some kick and scream the whole way. I'm not wearing a hat into Ruth Cris, but if I want to wear a hat out to the local pizza place, it's a pretty big shame if someone like you will just write off my whole being over something so minor

I have a feeling those doing the writing off will be losing more than those of us being wrote off.

Ok it's obvious the older generation and younger generation will never agree on this topic and that is fine...but just so you know I have had friends in the service who wore hats indoors sometimes at lower scale restaurants or bars and they were not in uniform, they were in casual clothes. It's obviously a generational thing. And I do not think it is offensive or rude to anyone...

I guess I just don't understand the need for constant hat-wearing in the first place; I hardly even wear a hat in WINTER, let alone restaurants....

If you want to wear a hat in the Cubby Bear, no will notice, or care; if you do the same in a 4-5 star restaurant, the reaction will not be as indifferent..
