Does anyone know how a spectator can go from the starting point to the 15th & 20th mile (to see a runner) by subway or is it easy enough to get a taxi outside the perimeter? Walking a mile or so from the subway back to the marathon is ok, but I just don't have a handle on how to get around. Advice??

Easist thing to do would be to hop on the red line in the loop and take it to one of the points south along the route such as Cellular Field or Chinatown.

Wrigleyville is always packed and it's harder to spot your friends in the crowd. The least crowded points along the route seem to be West and South.

as someone who ran the marathon the last 2 years: go to the course on the west and south - as mentioned above - its all between 16 and 24 miles - and this is 1. where we need spectators and 2. where there is a great chance to spot the one you're looking for - because the running crowd is stretched out enough.
