Or the best in recent memory, depending on one's personal preferences.

Today is officially perfect weather. I can't imagine any way it could be better.

If it doesn't hit 80 degrees F, it will come pretty close.

I was kidding. I lived in Chicago 2 years. Obviously there is more going on there - I just couldn't justify the costs/taxes for the midwest. It didn't seem worth it.

When it gets to 80 there, even in summer, it does seem slightly noteworthy.

The weather patterns in Des Moines are more similar to Kansas City than to Chicago. You have cold days in fall, but also the potential for hot days. Same thing with spring.

It's been mid 80s all week here, and up to 90 heat index one day. I lived in Chicago and I know that wouldn't happen, and if it did, it would be a huge deal. Here it's not.

Winters aren't as cold as snowy, and there's an extra 40 minutes of sunlight in winter because of the time zone position compared to Chicago.

82 in Des Moines today, 85 tomorrow. That is better than Portillos to me. This would be declared a national holiday if it happened in Chicago
Near 85 today, and we still have Portillo's. Feel kind of silly now, don't you?

Locations along the periphery of time zones, both east and west, impact morning and evening daylight. Latitude is another factor as well with regard to the deviations of daylight hours between summer and winter.

This post has so much fail in it, it's not even worth trying to point it all out.

Some people hate the cold. Chicago weather is depressing. Don't even have real summer there.

Or, like this year, we might have too much summer - by which I mean the ridiculously hot July we had. I just gave up on trying to do anything outside when it was over 85, and we had tons of those days this year.
