Also, whoever deleted my posts under the pretense that they were somehow 'racist,' I'm quite baffled. If you don't like something I posted feel free to delete it, but I am not guilty of such assertions and I am a bit irate. Also I wouldn't troll about my own city, just because I hate 1 prudential. I could have sworn this was a "least favorite" building. The last thing I ever want to be is a troll, but whatever. Pardon my irritation, but that was unfair.

There's a difference with Red brick and Red steel skyscrapers.

I totally agree! There's a building like that in Beverly Hills, though its much shorter and is right next to a green one....so Xmas vomit, basically.

There is a hotel that looks like it was built around 1920 because of the detail in the architecture. It is around Huron and St Clair St. I used to pass there all the time. Well, Motel 6 bought it, and up went the Motel 6 colors and logo, well this really cool old style architecture was now graced with this modern light blue cheap looking signage!!! I went looking for it on the intenet and I think another hotel bought it but put up red awnings. THAT hotel with the blue Motel 6 signage was THE ugliest building there. It did NOT go with the classic architecture that the building is made up of.

The CNA building makes the skyline look more American, in a good way. If that makes any sense.

What's wrong with the CNA building, haha? I can't think of any Chicago skyscrapers that are ugly. The problem with this thread is that it makes people think of an ugly skyscraper when they don't necessarily have one in mind.

How can you say that?! I wish it were built. We're lending top honors to Dubai...

LOL! I'm sorry but I just dont like how it looks a birthday candle (and other things I can't say). They need to redesign the whole architecture and I might just like it.

IMHO the winner of the Ug Award is:

Wow. Is that awful or what.

Runners-up: Prentice Hospital

St. Joseph Hospital (the Blue Building)

Park Place Tower (655 W. Irving Park)

Willis Tower (ugliest supertall in the U.S. but not really all that bad)

Whoever torn down the beautiful old Federal building to build the Kluckzynski Federal Building should be shot.
