LOL! Everyone left of Rush Limbaugh IS the definition of, and the promoters of, corruption to the core.

Rahm worked for Obama - who is THE definition of the corrupt Chicago politics model - anyone who worked for him, didn't oppose him, or failed to fight against him IS corrupt. Why any sane person would think that voting for an Obama crony (my gawd, you people had him here for how many years, and you are feigning surprise that his minions are the defintion of corruption, as he is?)could be anything but begging and pleading to install more corruption cannot be explained. Willful blindness? Self delusion?

You have a guy who's run for mayor, and his website details in excruciating and clear detail precisely how the corruption works. Yet, you still vote for Democrats. It could plausibly be assumed you people LOVE to have incompetent, corrupt, and malevolent government, since you keep voting for them with enthusiasm.

The op should probably move to Madison or Berkeley.

Or stay in Chicago because everyone loves to see people do the same things over and over expecting a different result.

There's a lot of truth in that. The critical part, however, is answering the question "What are the objective outcomes of what's going on?"

If I understand correctly, nearly half of your taxes go for education. Yet, what do you get for it? I read that some districts require a master's degree, and pay 100K plus in pay and benefits.

Why does anyone believe this results in better outcomes?

Can anyone point to any objective study that says teachers with high degrees in grade, middle, and high schools are dramatically more effective?

I've never heard of one. My own less than objective, but very convincing experience, is that advanced degrees are completely irrelevant to outcome, and family and school culture (which comes from family culture to a large degree) are absolutely critical.

Chicago has problems..Especially with the school systems. We get it. There's a reason the city has had quite a number of Catholic schools going back for generations....

To be fair, Illinois has had more than its share of corrupt Republicans, too.

Of course. To do ANYTHING, even get on the ballot, republicans have to be in bed with, and beholden to, and controlled by, Democrats. It's not about the party you're electing, it's about breaking the power structure. It is absolutely impossible to "clean up" your party, thus, it is absolutely impossible to clean up the city, and therefore, the state. You simply have to remove ALL relationships that cause the people lower down to break the law and otherwise commit bad acts for those at the top.

Whether you have some current corrrupt republicans or not, the point is, you have to, en masse, remove the Democrat party, and its power structure, by extreme disruption. The GOP in Illinois has no power structure, and with the Democrat one gone, those beholden to them on the GOP side no longer have anyone to be corrrupt with.

The point being, you cannot have a single party control state, and not become wholly corrupt.
