I always wanted to know whether or not the people who claim to need an hour to shovel out a car were aware that you can turn on the car while you shovel. And that this will substantially help your efforts.

Better make sure that there's absolutely no snow blocking the exhaust pipe. A child died here in Boston last winter when his father told him to warm up in a running car, and the exhaust pipe was blocked with snow--chilling how fast the end came..

That never occurred to me, but who keeps their kid in a car if they know it's going to take a while to shovel it out and scrape the ice off? Good god.

If any of the Mayor's had a pair Sanitation could have stopped Dibs dead in its tracks. But they didn't and now home owners think it is a right. It is illegal. Some day the wrong person will start a neighborhood war with violence. It is not that difficult to build an incendiary device and use it. Dibs will end when some one is hurt.

I don't know of any huge history-changing altercations due to this and it's been going on for several decades. Do you really think it's going to get worse to the point of a riot?
My guess is, probably not.

I don't see the big deal about dibs. It's amusing.

What's so amusing about it?

There is a dibs website and the submissions are funny. I don't see why everyone is up in arms as long as nobody gets hurt. Nobody = person, not an object. Lighten up.

There are plenty of funny websites for you to browse on the web. Having trash neighbors is funny to you? Dealing with car vandalism is funny to you? Grow up.

No one is 'up in arms' over anything, most are just sick of dealing with this garbage.
