I'll be coming to Chicago for a weekend in Feb for the first time. I've been to several other metro areas like NYC, Boston, San Fran, ect and enjoy seeing skyscrapers, older architecture, fine dining restaurants. I have 2 1/2 days. Is there anything in particular I might like to see? What are some things you just have to do the first time your in the city?

Thanx.

Of course, go up to the Sear Tower skydeck and/or Hancock Observatory. You can buy a CitiPass an save a bunch of money if you want to go the attractions listed below.Adult, $49.50,Youth 4-11, $39.00
CityPass: Chicago - The Hancock Observatory
Shedd Aquarium VIP
The Field Museum & Underground Adventure
Adler Planetarium
Museum of Science and Industry plus OMNIMAX
The Hancock Observatory

The Shedd,Planetarium,Science & Industry, and Field have some free days-so you might want to check their websites to see if they will be free while you are here. If you are going to go to the these places I would do all of them in one day.

Walk down Lasalle from Wacker to Jackson to see many of the older skyscrapers. At the end of LaSalle is the Chicago Board of Trade, whice is a jewel. You could always hop on a free trolley and look around too.

I will let others tell you more, since I am limited on time right now.

You can always do a search in the forum for ideas, this topic has been covered a few times.:-)

The Chicago Architecture Foundation gives walking tours that are very well-regarded. Their docents are genreally very knowlegable about Chicago history as well as the buildings.
