I'm still happy the Davis is there, don't get me wrong. Most of those first-run neighborhood movie theaters have disappeared. That place is definitely an asset for Lincoln Square.

I appreciate the info I have gotten, but really, your concerns about my financial situation are really unfounded, and frankly, not really your business. I told you what I can afford, and that is based on my consideration of my current income and expenses compared to expected changes when I move.

I'm not trying to be rude, and I hope that doesn't come across that way! I just felt like I was put on the defensive about how much money I make, and the reality is, good servers make good money! I wouldn't be doing it otherwise (I have a Bachelors in math). I am really excited to move, and I've done my research. So thanks to those who gave me good info on Lincoln Sq as well as some other neighborhoods for me to look into!

My wife is a server - works 4 days a week - and makes 80k/year.
So my family personally invites naysayers to 'put that in their pipe and smoke it' ; )

PS- You're moving May 1 ? I'll get you a place in our Lincoln Square neighborhood. I have rentals and/or I AM a Leasing agent - and I live here.
-Not soliciting business... I've posted on the thread before... just sayin'.
(former Upstater too ... thought you probably consider yourself a Western NY'er - not just an Upstater.)

Davis Theatre should be cleaned regularly. Other than that--and maybe accepting credit cards--don't change it. They get a good selection of movies in!

just thinking of the Davis as I went to the Logan over the weekend.

the Logan's seats are beyond awful in terms of coils that you can feel right through the fabric, but at least the ticket price is only $4.

what really drives me crazy about both theaters is the fact that they each took one large theater and cut it in half decades ago, but the danged seats are all situated the wrong way, at goofy angles, due to this.

At the very least you'd think they could turn the seats so they would at least face the screen properly!

The Logan may only be 4 bucks, but the seats are uncomfortable and it smells like ****.

Not for me.

I might be headed back to the Lincoln Square area soon. Four years of living pretty close to Wrigley is enough for me...
