I'm a student who cannot seem to get anything done at home, so I need to find a good coffee shop to study at. Ideally not too quiet... I need some background noise. Wicker Park, Bucktown, West town areas would be good. I might venture over to Lincoln Park or Old Town from time to time as well... Oh and don't you dare say Starbucks!!! Free Wifi would be awesome as well!

Hands down it's Dollop at Clarendon and Gordon Terrace. Free Wi-Fi and lots tables and couches. But you'd have to get to Buena Park, which is a bit of a hike from West Town.

Gallery Cafe has free wifi and lots of seating, but their coffee kinda sucks...they're at the corner of North Ave. and Wood St. in Wicker Park

Another coffee shop I really like is Fixx in Lakeview...they're open 24 hours and have free wifi...it's within walking distance from the Belmont stop on the Red Line...I've been there a few times when I needed to get some studying done because they're open late, have free wifi, good coffee/snacks (ie: hummus plate)

There's Mercury Cafe on Chicago and Ashland (Or I guess technically Chicago and Armour). Tons of seating, free wifi and awesome blueberry scones. It's also the most bizarrely large place you'll find.

It's not really your part of West Town, but it's West Town none the less.

why not try panera...no its not quite a coffee shop, but they do sell coffee ...im not a coffee drinker so i really dont know anything about the quality of coffee...but they have free wifi and good food. you can get a booth so you have some space and arent confined to a small table like most coffee shops have. they just opened up one by the target in bucktown.

Their coffee is actually quite good, and the one I frequented in college always had plenty of students studying, but the wi-fi was always blazing fast.

What happened at that place? I recently moved to Bridgeport, it's nice and quiet but that is the SOLE coffee place in the neighborhood....
