I tried looking on Craigslist for this and actually couldn't find much of anything.

I'm looking for a small meeting room that can host 10-20 people for once a week. I don't need much in the office space; just an area I can stand at and speak at the front of the room and 10-20 chairs pretty much.

Does anyone know where I can look online to find such a meeting space in the Chicago area?

Sometimes the local branch of the Public Library will have meeting rooms available. I am not sure if they have requirements or restrictions about permitted purposes (or audiences) for the meetings, but that should be easy to find out.

I know people who have rented hotel meeting rooms out by O'Hare for an executive who had a layover in Chicago. Other hotels in the area will also offer this service if they are used to business clientele.

If you want something more formal, there are the various Regus office spaces. I have attended meetings in those before and the one downtown is quite nice.

I currently live in a large, ~7-story abandoned office building. Plenty of space. No chairs though, that you have to provide.

They probably need wi-fi.

Running water and heat would be nice too...

Is NealIRC willing to share his data connection?

I use the computer at work. I work in a warehouse that has wi-fi. When I go home I'm done for the Internet, unless I take my laptop to a public wi-fi or use the public school computers.

Sounds luxurious. Are you squatting or something?

No it's not luxurious but it's free.
