Dating scene for Asian men in Chicago? (Evanston: transfer, wedding)

There's obviously a lot of Asian women-White guy couples in Chicago but the reverse is super rare. Is this due to racism of white women against Asian men or something else going on? Chicago is a major city but certainly more provincial than say NYC.

Why does it have to be racism of white women? Why might it not be racism of Asian men?

I'm surprised you say this. I've seen plenty of Asian men - white women couples in Chicago. Especially as I was going to university out there. I think that it perhaps be less common than you'd see observe, say, out west like in California. But it's not something rare.

One of my best friend married couples here in Chicago is white woman / asian guy. And actually his brother, who I don't know very well because he lives in New York, is also married to a white woman - and they didn't start out in New York. A couple I just met last year that just moved to New York because he got transferred was white woman / asian guy and they met here in Chicago. I saw a wedding at Navy Pier a couple years ago that was an asian man and a black woman.

I don't make a conscious effort to look for asian-guy, non-asian woman couples, but they do exist here. I'm not sure how common they are, but obviously they do occur if two couples in my rather limited circle of friends includes two asian-guy/white-woman couples.

Some asian guy friends of mine state straight out that their parents prefer they date asian women. I don't know how common it is overall, but at least some women here don't rule out guys based on race.

You didn't really make it clear what types of girls you are into; white or other Asians. Now if you are into Chinese women you can go to Chinatown on the Southside and it is literally a meat market for Asian women out there; they are everywhere. Also, if you are into white women, there are plenty of Caucasian-Asian couples especially in Evanston, Illinois which is a wealthy suburb here. Even near UIC I see a lot of Asian-white couples.

That being said, Chicago has a great dating scene. However, you need to make sure that you make enough to live here. If you make less than 60k a year, stay out because the taxes are sky high here and the cost of living is outrageous. If you are poor here, you feel enslaved and are basically working constantly in hopes that you will be able to get out at some point. If you are making 60k or more, the town has a lot to offer, always something to do, great clubs, great bars, art exhibits, events and everything. Just make sure you can afford it here.

I date white women for the most part. My Asian buddies in NYC do great with women of all races, but the ones in Chicago always said that the white women are super provincial due to their Midwestern upbringing and not willing to date non-white guys.

Spend some time in both NYC and Chicago and you will see way more Asian guy-White girl couples in NYC than in Chicago. And there's no doubt that Chicago is way more provincial when it comes to race and diversity.
