It even gets better when you get to school district employees. Can somebody please tell me why Illinois is any different than this?

Now, just for the amusement value I searched for the state of Missouri. Missouri these days is almost as conservative as Kansas, so once again you can hardly complain that some greedy unions and overly-generous liberal tax-stealing legislators trying to rip off taxpayers are responsible for such prolificacy!

And no, clearly the governor is not the most highly-paid state employee. Not even close, actually.

I counted 80 state employees (most of them college professors) who make over $200K!! And that's just state government.

Once again, can somebody please tell me why Illinois is any different than Kansas and Missouri?

And so on, and so forth. You have to go to page 17 before you get to sub-$100K salaries. And those are JUST county employee salaries. Here are some city employee salaries:

Here you have to go to page 22 to get sub-$100K salaries.

And this is Kansas, which can hardly be accused of being some liberal, union-loving, wage-overpaying stronghold. There is absolutely nothing different about these compared to Illinois.

So as I originally said, this is much ado about nothing. People ranting about something with no idea what they're talking about.
That's interesting. I was under the impression it was just chicago. I find it hard to believe that the other categories of jobs like superintendent aren't grossly overpaid compared to other states.

Kansas----a backward, broke mess of a state. One of the potential gubernatorial candidates, Kris Kobach, was just fined $1000K for making misleading statements about voter registration. He has a long track record of voter suppression, too. I guess those things only happen in Chicago, though..hmmm

And let's not forget that unlike legitimate trade unions that have members pay into the pension funds based on wages earned the corrupt unions covering state employees have the most obscenely lopsided formula that ends up leaving the state will literally hundreds of billions short of funds needed to pay out benefits...
Most of the examples given are not union jobs but administration.

Well since Kansas and Missouri are "right to work" states maybe the scare tactics of the DEMOCRATS who have the idiots in the unions believing that there would be massive wage roll backs are wrong...

Think I'll join the Teamsters, so I can be paid much more than I'm worth.
Little wonder why no city government can retain public works directors, they all resign in less than 2 years.
And the reason is always the same, they don't want to deal with the union.
