Any thoughts???

Thinking of making an offer on a condo - looks like Lincoln Square fun is heading north...

The only downside is limited access to the "L". And that's not going to change.

Yeah, I think the brown line is like 5 or 6 blocks from the place I'm looking at. My office is by O'Hare, so I'll be driving to work anyway. But if that's the only downside you see - may not be so bad for me. Thanks for the comment!

No problem. Other issues might be lack of ammenities like restaurants and shopping, but otherwise it's a pretty solid neighborhood without much crime (by city standards, of course).

The Brown Line is with easy and comfortable walking distance.

It's not necessarily comfortable (although we all have a different threshold for this). The southern border of Budlong Woods is Foster, and the Rockwell and Western stations are both a 1-1/2 blocks south of Lawrence. Your best case scenario would be a seven block walk, and worst case could be up to twenty blocks. But yes, if you're living right on Foster and close to Western or Rockwell, you could have a reasonable walk to the Brown Line from Budlong Woods.

The only time you have to walk to the Brown Line is when the Lincoln or Western bus is not running. Both of those bus rides to the Western stop are very short. I took the Lincoln or Western bus to the Western stop (or walked) almost everyday from Catalpa for two years. It was not bad at all by bus. Yes, some people do not want to walk more than 3 blocks to get on a train, but the walk from Foster to Leland is not very long. It depends what part of Budlong Woods you are speaking of.

I bet you are looking at a condo right near the Latin Bliss right?

The best-case scenario is a five-block walk actually, with worst-case being a 9-block walk. That's 10 to 20 minutes. I'm a very large dude and even I can handle that easily.
