Do you think you can find a newer condo loft type in a decent nieghborhoods in Chicago 2 beds 2 baths for 250,000? I am talking about all these condos popping up with three or six units front balcony's usually on main streets like Damen , Ashland , Lincoln. I am not sure what these types of buildings are called. Sometimes they have retail on bottom floor.

Have you never heard of Redfin or Zillow? It would be easier and faster for you to use actual site of the internet dedicated to answering that question than asking here.

Virtually none in decent areas. Assuming newer means 2000 and later:

https://www.redfin.com/IL/Chicago/35.../home/28534410 (Bridgeport)

https://www.redfin.com/IL/Chicago/22.../home/21810149 (whatever the f Near West Side is)

https://www.redfin.com/IL/Chicago/81.../home/12658445 (University Village)

https://www.redfin.com/IL/Chicago/20.../home/28494636 (Rogers Park)

And a few in Kenwood, where safety goes block by block (north tends to be rougher)

I read that those sites are usually higher than actual prices spent a lot if time on zillow.

And my searches did not come up with a lot if these newer condos. At least on Zillow it's more single family and older condos

Zillow will have almost the exact same selections as Redfin. Make sure you have "condos" selected when searching. You can also view recent sold properties/prices on Zillow as well.

Zillow and Redfin are actually quite different, as Redfin is almost real-time linked to MLS data.

Also, to OP, check out the Bridgeport property for sure. That isn't a bad deal at all.

You're both right. I think he should've been able to find more or less the same inventory on zillow (probably more because it includes pre foreclosure and fsbo listings) so there's some user error going on, but at the same time zillow will be slightly behind and/or inaccurate so I'd always go with redfin first.

And looks like the Bridgeport one is contingent already so OP is probably too late.

I've seen condos in North Center and Ravenswood around that price. They are not in new buildings like you're describing but they are in upscale areas that are very safe and have a lot of amenities. Look a little more broadly at different kinds of buildings.
