I'm moving from Florida to Chicago and am wondering if anyone has had a really good experience moving interstate with a moving company or can recommend any moving companies that go interstate. I know that getting good movers can really be hit and miss and often its best to go with a good referral. Thanks!

Hi there,
Last year we moved from Miami to Chicago and we used Nobel Van Lines of North Miami Beach: reasonable price, nice and professional staff, no complaints! I would recommend them!

We used United Van Lines for our move from Chicago to South Carolina. We had to have everything put in storage so was really 2 moves in one but everything made it okay. I was especially nervous about our stuff making it through the Smokies in one piece; but the worry was for naught.

Default Dont use atlas!

Stay away from Atlas Van Lines. we used them to move from Raleigh NC to St Louis. It was a horrible experience. They did not stick to the contract, we had to stay over a week in a hotel because the driver made a couple additional stops not originally explained to us and alot of our stuff got broken including both our cars which had several dings and scratches. Atlas did not stand behind the contract and we ahd to take it to arbitration. Needless to say it took a long time to get it resolved and still were not compansated fully for the damage. I would never ever recommend ten to anyone!

I moved from Ft Lauderdale to Chicago and just rented a 22' budget truck and moved everything myself. I moved in the winter time and my poor SO had to drive that giant thing (towing my ancient volvo) up treacherous ice covered Tennessee roads. Saved us a bundle in the end though and we had no one to blame for broken trinkets.

I'm interested in this question too! So far I have heard good things about Mayflower.

Reebie. An old Chicago moving company (Lookout probably knows their architecturally important old warehouse), affiliated with Allied. We used them to go from Chicago to Lexington Ky and we used them coming back a few weeks ago. Excellent, no problems, NONE.

Heck I even know its warehouse on Clark Street in Lincoln Park. It is a Chicago Landmark.

Remember Mayflower?
