So cops are going to retailiate against the people in Chicago because they don't like the election results. Nice. Maybe decreasing the police budget isn't such a bad idea.
It is what you want so have fun, enjoy the violence and do NOT cry about it

"They're young. Sometimes they make silly decisions. They do. And so we have to make sure that we're investing so that young people know they're supported. And we also have to make sure that police officers who put their lives on the line have the resources that they need to keep us safe," Johnson said.

Silly ol' attempted murder.

Since police need resources to keep us safe, we need to hire more teachers that got me elected.

The CTU's call for more state money to fund massive new hiring in Chicago's public schools is a top priority for Johnson. "Investing to create 200 more jobs in the Chicago Public Schools can yield incredible dividends going forward," Johnson said.

"State money"? Let the spending begin.

For at least the past five years, Johnson has been on the union payroll and taken in over $390,000 as a “legislative coordinator,” according to documents CTU filed with the U.S. Department of Labor. All the while, he was also earning a salary as a Cook County Board commissioner.

The five-year deal struck between Lightfoot and CTU in 2019 will end up costing Chicagoans at least $1.5 billion. A potential landmark deal from Johnson, with extra union perks and untraditional political provisions, could cost even more.

My taxes are high enough without having to pay for Chicago.. I am leaving.

CPS lost nearly 10,000 students last year and is projected to lose thousand more this year. There is absolutely no need to hire additional teachers. This kind f pandero g is exactly why Chicago is screwed.

If this is true, I'd rather have them just leave the force. Orlando PD is hiring. 52k per year, and no union dues I bet!

Very reckless and irresponsible comment. Only the Tribune said something, meaning only those that can afford their $30 a month subscription with 20% step increases or whatever read any criticism. The lefties who wanted him in office over at WTTW and the Sun-Times said nothing. Great journalism. Not.

That desk sergeant should be fired. Blatantly unprofessional and totally unnecessary when interacting with a crime victim filing a report. I know morale is in the toilet at CPD, and they probably need to fire half of the atrocious leadership (IMO it always rolls downhill) but that’s no justification for abandoning your responsibilities.

You can work a tough and often thankless job, and I agree this is the case for them, but frankly you are also (and should be) held to a much higher standard and that is something you agreed on when you were hired. Ranting about Brandon Johnson is not going to encourage people to come to you for help as they should feel comfortable doing.
