MIGHT I get it? Sure, just like people can get the flu (whether they get the flu vaccine OR not!).

I might die in a car crash on the highway to or from anywhere I go, any day of my life.

Anyways, I like the OPTION, also, have having in OR outside dining. I like that people have an option to do whatever makes them comfortable. I also like the idea that restaurants, then can accommodate people with their choices.

What I DON'T like is how this society is getting too quick to be grumpy punks~

Ex.: I went into Barba Yanni on Saturday. A woman came in and sat a couple seats from me, at the bar. I had already finished my drink. I asked her if anyone had checked in with her, at all, for an order. She replied, "no." I waved down the Server, and to make sure he didn't think I wanted another drink for ME, I said, "You can take care of the lady, first." (TRYING to be a gentleman). He replied, "Don't tell me how to do my job!"

I'm going to stop typing now.
You've always had the option to dine in or out--restaurants are free to keep their outdoor areas open in wintertime if they choose.

Whether a street is closed or open to vehicles changes nothing about this.

I've never been a fan of outdoor dining. I've relented during Covid to stay safe, and I am glad that restaurants now offer the option despite my dislike. I am not a fan of bugs, wind, excess sun, uncomfortable seating, car exhaust, noise, etc. Sit me down in airconditioning, in a padded booth in a restaurant and I am happy.

That's my feeling about it too. Plus with all the robberies, it would be too easy for someone to commit a crime with the diners on the sidewalk. Plus i would be concerned that a random car would hit me pretty easily while street/sidewalk dining.

While some of these are kinda pretty, the indoor air conditioning beats all the prettiness of the outdoor tents. They have some nice ones set up in the parking lots of the suburban restaurants, yet, i never once wanted to use them.
