Yeah let us know. I will guess concerned. I think you're getting a lot of young people in there who have been brainwashed into thinking that traditional American values are not good and have to be erased. They are unmoved by poor school scores (well, until their own kids get to school age). That's why you had a candidate completely unafraid to say she was going to abolish the police department, and her slate lost the mayor seat by barely 250 votes last election.

We have no small percentage of that in Chicago now either, as Johnson's performance and polling show. This is why the race is being so closely watched nationally. It's not that anybody cares about us. It's because the left and right want to know far this ideaology has spread so they can of course exploit it for '24.

Yes, this race is extremely representative of the battle within the D party between "progressives" and the old guard. I used to think the Bernie way was a small faction of the Left, but it's grown.

As I was typing, a knock on my door. A Johnson canvasser, telling me to please vote for him. Sorry buddy.

I do not like the term "old guard." I'm not that old, LOL! The terms "moderate," "liberal," or even "common sense" are appropriate when compared to some of the ideas coming out of the so-called progressive wing. They are socialists. They try to sugar coat it and get cute with terminology and all that but, left unchecked, you would see state ownership of property and retributions based on identity. No doubt about it.

If Vallas doesn't win, there is zero hope for the city of Chicago. Johnson is just a male version of Lightfoot.

She came off as a very angry person.
How about refusing to grant interviews to white reporters? That was a winner.

Expanding on the water bill bit, this is just too (&)$ing much and at this point personifies the Johnson campaign:

Regarding Johnson's ~$4K backdue water bills, fines, etc. his campaign has responded:

“Like many working and middle class Chicagoans, the Johnson household has received various fines and fees from the City of Chicago over the years. These fines and fees are on a previously established payment plan and are on schedule to be fully resolved before Brandon Johnson takes office as our next mayor,” Johnson’s campaign said.

Yeh... Brandon Johnson who makes $90K per year as a Cook County Commissioner and and additional ~$86K per year as a lobbyist the CTU ($176K per year in total if we're keeping a running total) is a bonified member of the struggling working class who can't possibly afford his city water bill.
Methinks SOMEONE is a union shill.

Well, I think it's over, folks. So glad I got out of that shi$hole city. My old SUBURBAN neighborhood had an armed robbery today.
