Parking, Alderman, and more...

You will find the websites for all the residential neighborhood groups in Lake View here. Yes, there are 12 of them! It is always a good idea to get involved in your neighborhood. Also, these groups post info on their sites and have info at their meetings that you will not find out about on T.V., in the newspapers, and sometimes not even from your own Alderman! They are a great forum to meet your neighbors also.Try to look on the Aldermanic websites to answer your questions about Lake View and/or call them before asking questions on the board!

"Starting July 1, 2008, all residential streets north of Addison, south of Irving Park and west of Broadway will be our newest 383 Residential Permit Parking Zone, every day from 6pm-6am. "

"In an effort to simplify the parking process for residents and by popular demand, the new area will have no need for the LV2 permits after July 1st. If you are a resident of this area, when you renew your city sticker, you must also purchase a Zone 383 Residential Permit Parking Sticker for $25."

Effective July 1, 2008:
Residential Permit Parking Zone 383 (6:00pm-6:00am) will be expanded to include the following streets:

THE LOCATIONS DIRECTLY BELOW ARE IN THE 44th WARD. ALL OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE AREA MENTIONED ABOVE ARE IN THE 46th WARD. Check their website or call them for more details.
Addison: Racine to Ashland
900 W. Dakin
3600-3800 N. Fremont
800-1100 W. Waveland
900-1100 W. Grace
3600-3800 N. Wilton
800 W. Addison (South Side Only)
900 W. Addison
3800 N. Racine (both sides)
3700-3800 N. Sheffield
900-1000 W. Sheridan Rd.

LV2-Cubs Night Game Parking Permits are NO LONGER VALID in Zone 383 Permit Parking areas. Enforcement on Night Games begins at 5:00pm. Residential Guest Passes must be displayed by 5:00pm to avoid ticket and tow!

Signs will be installed beginning Mid-June.
Enforcement will begin July 1, 2008

"Residential Permit Parking Zone 383 will be installed on all residential streets Racine to Ashland / Belmont to Addison. The area includes Racine (west side). Belmont, Addison, Southport & Ashland are excluded.

Check all three of these Aldermanic sites for exact and more comprehensive info on residential parking permits in Lake View. All three of these wards cover Lake View. They are also the websites that you need to get more info on your neighborhood and to request services from your Alderman.

The core of Lake View:
Tom Tunney 44th Ward
44th Ward

West Lake View and South West Lake View:
Scott Waguespack 32nd Ward
32nd Ward

North Lake View and parts of East Lake View:
Helen Schiller
46th Ward

Parts of North West Lake View:
Gene Schulter
Alderman Schulter's Ward 47 web site provides access to City of Chicago services as well as breaking ward news and information on local issues such as the Asian Long Horned Beetle.

That is one of the best things about growing up with a dad in law enforcement. At least I, in theory, know what to do if attacked. The problem of course comes when you (inevitably) panic!

But I seriously urge anyone to take any such class when offered near you.
