Is ripping on Lakeview a requirement for "keeping it real"?

I'd rather be considered a "jogger" sterotype than telling people you are from Wicker Park and they think you are or once were a poor dirty hipster.

Whats wrong with jogging? Granted I dont live in Lakeview but I would think you see a lot of joggers only because that area is full of young professionals who like to keep in shape...plus its close to the lake and who wants to run in a gym when the weather is nice and you've got a lake nearby...I guess I might be one of those stereotypical joggers and skip the gym in nice weather if i decided to live in lakeview

Jogging is a CHEAP sport! Try road bikes where decked out ones cost $7500 +! Even people in poor neighborhoods can jog, no big deal.

You and I have something in common LOL! I see a lot of joggers in Wicker Park too -- they seem like they're having a pretty lousy time all huffin' and sweatin'.

There are a lot of joggers in lincoln park as well. A lot of them jog in the park along north pond or south pond. Maybe that's why its less visible than the crowd in Lakeview?

I belive it is a requirement. I used to hate running and make fun of runners--the most pointless pseudo-sport. I have lived in Lakeview for 3 years, and now run quite often and am running my first marathon this weekend. How things change...

I never lived in LP, but did live in Lakeview at Henderson and Southport. Probably similar to LP. Were lots of joggers. Other things that seemed to be requirement was the constant wear of baseball caps, spending weekend morning at Starbucks with ones' laptop and owning a dog. Is it the same for LP?
