I'm all for laying it all on the parents, but the current generation is far beyond listening to Mommy and assuming some of these parents are going to step up now when their kid's in high school is silly. sadly, at some point, the city needs to step in and take over the reins from bad parenting
Although you are correct, I am against further government intrusion into our lives. We already live in a nanny country to a lesser degree and a nanny state to a higher degree. We also live in a nanny city (to the highest degree seen in this country) and yet our many problems are still not solved.

Let the fools kill each other. I really do not care anymore

CPS: We can't afford new books, but we have sports teams.

Can someone spell "priority"?

As long as there are who people cannot controld themselves, those who can suffer for it. Maybe a better idea is to cancel all games until the school year 2011 starts. It will give the fans, the parents and the students something to think about for a few months besides school rivalry and revenge.

The shooting makes a great case for gun control. Do you really need a metal detector and dogs at every game?

What a sad day for sports.

It makes a great case for birth control.
Removal of my Constitutional rights is not a solution to someone else's problem.

Yeah no kidding. We already have a conceal carry ban and a handgun ban in Chicago. Look at what good it is doing. It aint doing crap to stop violence such as mentioned above.

The City of Chicago makes a great case that shifting the blame toward inanimate objects and away from the moral infirmity of a community is a politically expedient but otherwise futile approach.
