According to wikipedia chicago now has 3.2 million people. last time i checked a couple weeks ago it was around 2.8 million. wow 400,000 people moved into chicago in just a few weeks that must be some kind of record.

it says chicago is 12,649 per square mile but with a population of 3.2 million it should be 14,246 per square mile.

It's probably someone trying to make a comment about illegal immigrants.

I doubt it, unless they counted the undocumented immigrants this time. lol We see next year when the 2010 census come out.

There is a vandal on Wikipedia whose only action is to change population numbers. His "contribution" has been changed back already:

sounds too high, but, Chicago at one point hit 3.6 million, I won't be surprised if we slowly creep back up as development of a more dense nature spreads out from the Loop.

you realize wikipedia can be edited by anyone, including yourself, right? its the opposite of authoritative, i really worry now that people use it as a primary resource for anything and everything

the only "official" numbers are those that are released every 10 years, after the census bureau goes door to door

I think you people are forgetting the 350,000 people living on floors 2-3000 in Chicago Spire.

Crowding on elevator 17 is worse than in the State Street subway!!!
