We're staying at Palmer House next week for our first night away from the baby, yay! Anyways, they have $51 valet parking with in/out priv. and we will be heading out to a concert that night and coming back, so that's a good thing. However I was wondering if there is a cheaper option than this? We're not taking a cab to United Center b/c we don't want to deal with trying to find on after the show. Is there parking near the hotel that is cheaper?

Grant Park Garage is one block east of the Palmer House. Mid-Continent Plaza Self-Park is a half-block east (and probably where the hotel valet is putting your car anyway). Adams-Wabash Self-Park is a half-block south. You'll have to call to find out the overnight rates. Get the numbers by checking Chicago Parking Garages | Downtown Chicago City Public Parking

I've been living in Chicago for quite some time. Parking has never been easy!!! My friend told me about SpotHero (Chicago Parking | Find Chicago Parking With SpotHero). It is a cheap, easy, and convenient way to park. You can reserve your spot ahead of time so there are no worries!

You can also take the bus to and from the United Center very easily. The #20/Madison bus goes straight there from Madison, a block north of your hotel, and drops you off with the return on Washington Street. A bus trip is $2.25 each if you pay cash, or $2 each if you go into a subway station and get a farecard (the card is free). Put $8 on the card and you and your wife can get there and back.
