My girlfriends and I are heading into Chicago to see the Jersey Boys. We are looking for a good hotel not far from the theatre, Bank of America. We are willing to use the red line to travel from hotel to theatre. Also maybe some good resturarants in that area ??

Thanks. crista1952

Just about any hotel in the loop will do.

Go to Border's or Barnes & Noble, look at the most recent Frommer's or Fodor's and just choose one that's recommended, they're all basically nice downtown.

Take a look at hotels on expedia, travelocity, and orbitz. Find a good deal and then go to tripadvisor.com and check out customer reviews.

Personally, I would go to priceline.com and put in a bid for a hotel downtown/in Loop 3 stars or higher (or on N Michigan Ave/Mag. Mile area), however, since you mentioned your friends this can present as problem as bidding on priceline does not allow you to select the number of beds your room will have (and many only have 1 bed I have found from experience). If you use the regular hotel booking feature on priceline you can tell the number of beds in advance. But when bidding you cannot tell what you will be assigned.

And there is also hotwire.com. So many options and most all the hotels that are 3, 4, or 5 stars in that area are really just fine.

There are a couple of "known dogs" in the 3 star category. If you can afford to go 4 star it is much nicer...

There's a hotel in the same building as the theater. You can go upstairs at intermission to use your own bathroom. Hampton Inn Majestic, 22 West Monroe.

As far as restaurants, Italian Village is excellent and right down the street from the theatre. They have a massive wine cellar if you are into that sort of thing.

You might also want to look into the Palmer House Hotel at 17 E. Monroe. This is one of Chicago's most opulent and grand hotels from the classic era. This is literally right down the street from Jersey Boys. (I never knew that there was also a hotel in the same building as the theater!)
